Solace Creations is a member of the Housing Industry Association and Master Builder's Association, these Associations provide assurance to home owners that what we do is in accordance with our membership and in the industry overall. The HIA and MBA set standards for businesses and will only have members that meet their standard. This is our endorsement of our quality.
Solace Creations has joined the well acclaimed list of businesses that have been given a Telstra Award. The process to be given a Telstra Award is very intense involving an application process that is a nearly 100 page document, assessment by business judges on all aspects of the business and a 40 minute interview. Winning both the ACT Telstra Micro Business Award and the Telstra Business Women's Award put us in the National Awards for both and while we didn't win, we were in the top 8 Australian Micro Businesses and female entrepreneurs in Australia. We are very proud of this.
As a member of Canberra Women in Business we liaise with other ladies that are running their own business. It is a great opportunity to network and build relationships with other businesses.
The National Association for Women in Construction is for ladies that have chosen construction as their career or business. Their functions and courses are also a great place to talk about issues in the industry. Karen is on the mentoring program for other women in construction and provides her time to help upcoming professionals in the industry.
